ContentBiz 2005: Appeasing the “Stupid” and Google Gods

[reporting by Dorian Benkoil] The very amusing Tim Carter, Owner, AsktheBuilder.com, who got the 2005 Featured Entrepreneur of the Year award: “One thing I learned a long time ago: There are a lot of stupid people on the Internet. I hope they’re not your friends.” He puts “click here for the best deck sealer” with words right on the photo. He tried subscriptions in various ways until he hit big with optimizing for Google and Google ads. “It is Google, MSN and Yahoo” that matter, he said. And he writes his columns to match words people are going to type into a search engine. “The words that people will type in your search engine is what you should write.”
