Business Standard:
Indian cellular industry (GSM) added a little more than a million subscribers to its base last month. That’s a growth of 2.67 per cent in April, taking the total GSM customers to 42.12 million. Year on year the growth is 55 per cent, according to the numbers released by Cellular Operators Association of India. But there are apprehensions that the growth has been slowing down – at least in the last four months of this calendar year – and there are concerns if it will be possible to reach the target of 250 million mobile subscribers by 2007-08. (I think it’s achievable by 2010!)
