Indian Regulator Proposes A “Do Not Call” List, And A Telephone Directory For Cell Subs

Telecom Asia: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the body equivalent to the FCC of the US, has hinted that India too can maintain a “do-not-call” registry like the US and Canada.
TRAI recently submitted its report to the government on issues relating to the publication of telephone directory and directory enquiry services. People wanting to opt out of the directory, fearing an intrusion to their privacy and unwanted telemarketing calls, can do so by not giving their consent for being a part of it.
