Qualcomm, which had its analyst day today, is talking up mobile TV, and has revealed its partners in its MediaFlo network/technology trials: they are heavy hitters like ABC News, CNN, ESPN Court TV, Weather Channel, A&E, as well as MLB.com…it is also working with Music Choice, the TV music network.
The company plans to spend about $800 million to build the MediaFlo network, incoming CEO Paul Jacobs said at the analyst meeting. The company expects to spin-off MediaFlo, once it is up and running…

Some more details on its analyst day here, including presentation from top management…In his presentation (PDF file), Jacobs also showed mockups of the mobile TV interface (the image above shows the EPG, on the left and an example of interactivity on this new TV network)…also, some other interesting slides (page 28-33 in the PDF).
Seems like there will be two tiers: one of shared content, almost akin to basic cable, and then, unique content, akin to premium cable, which will be provisioned though the operators…
