Mobile TV Trials in UK

This summer, 500 specially chosen Oxfordshire residents in UK will be given the ability to view their favorite shows on their mobile phones as O2, in conjunction with cable company NTL, runs a trial of TV over mobile devices. This follows tests of similar technology in Germany by T-Mobile and Vodafone, and there are plans for further projects by Sonera in Finland, KPN in Holland and Telstra in Australia. Some others are taking the 3G route: Late last year, Orange launched a service in France, and there is speculation of an imminent UK launch, while Vodafone is rumoured to be planning a 3G TV service in the autumn…
