Reorg expenses connected to its regional sports nets and other factors combined for an 8-percent decline in earnings in News Corp.s 3Q05 despite a 17-percent increase in revenues that took the company to $6 billion from $5.2 billion the previous year. More significant to this space, despite all the talk and actions at News Corp. in digital and mobile content, as far as I can tell absolutely nothing along those lines shows up in the earnings release. It’s a reminder that for most of the major media companies this is still a very small percentage of the bottom line or the budget.
