July Systems has signed a deal to launch its Play2Win interactive mobile game service on the portal MobileGaming.com, run by MobileStreams. “The service allows MobileGaming.com consumers to download a special interactivity-enabled mobile game, play, and post their scores to a community leaderboard directly from their mobile phones. The service is available to Vodafone, O2, Orange, and T-Mobile subscribers. iPod Minis, Nintendo DS gaming consoles, PlayStation 2 consoles and hundreds of other prizes are on offer for players with the top daily, weekly, and fortnightly scores. The service is offered with a convenient weekly subscription.” The cost of the subscription isn’t stated…
The effort is touted as “community building”, and while “Top Score” lists aren’t knew I haven’t heard of regular prizes before.
