Update: See Oops: MLBAM Suspends Nationals.TV Offer
In a first-time move, Major League Baseball is allowing in-market, no blackout viewing of every locally broadcast game of a team. Nationals.TV launches with tonight’s away game against the Dodgers. The caveats:
– Live Nationals.TV will be blacked out in the opposing team’s home telecast market and in Japan.
– Nationally broadcast games on ESPN and Fox will be blacked out in the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The subscription runs $14.95 a month and is available only within the Nationals market. Everyone else has to subscribe to MLB.TV.
More on this to come.
