“In the Asia-Pacific region, spending by youth on mobile data services reached USD 15.2 billion in 2004, and the forecast growth rate for revenues is estimated at 15.3 percent annually from 2004 to 2010.” The largest segment was messaging, which accounted for 43% of the youth market, followed by “ringtones, screensavers and wallpaper” at 29.7 percent, games at 9.7 percent and video, still nascent, at 6.5 percent. Around 10-15% of the spending of youth in developed countries is on mobile products.
