Shockwave.com: Sr. Product Manager/Director, SF

We’re looking for a leader with a background in Internet entertainment/media businesses to help make it even better. This person will lead the day to day business of shockwave.com, with emphasis on Shockwave’s advertising based products and revenue streams. S/he will be responsible for increasing Shockwave.com site usage, user loyalty, and revenue, through site enhancements, content promotion, audience research, and membership/community programs. This individual will also work closely with AtomShockwave’s CMO/GM and other executives to evaluate and develop new distribution and revenue opportunities in online gaming, which may include multiplayer games, mobile games subscriptions and other opportunities TBD.

Specific responsibilities will include:

– Increase site usage, user loyalty, and revenue by:

– Monitoring the activities and attributes of site users

– Identify the content needs of site users, and work with the games team to ensure consistent, high-quality pipeline of new games

– Define site functionality enhancements by preparing detailed requirements documentation

– Increase usage of multiplayer games and community features

– Build a robust free membership/registration program

– Work with the advertising team to structure high-value ad programs and placements, while protecting the user experience

– Work with others on the marketing team to upsell free site users to paid products and services, while protecting the user experience

– Perform industry research and competitive tracking

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative thinker with a strong consumer orientation and deep experience/familiarity with online content and entertainment. S/he must have excellent business planning and analytical skills and be able to transfer solid business analysis into innovative product and marketing ideas. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to lead cross functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

– 5+ years of marketing/product management experience

– 3+ years experience in online media/entertainment, online advertising or ecommerce.

– Direct experience in the games industry and/or strong personal interest in the category is required.

– MBA strongly preferred.
