MTV Networks: Director, Digital Music Operations, NYC


The Director, Digital Music Operations will identify and develop key strategies to drive growth of the digital music business, manage the group’s P&L and operating plan, and help manage day-to-day operations and strategy implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
— Identify, analyze, and recommend new business opportunities; develop complete business plans to support entry, if appropriate
— Manage implementation of approved new projects with Business Development, Product, Technology and other relevant groups
— Manage the group’s P&L and operating plan, and lead all financial planning and analysis to support the business
— Collaborate with digital music senior management team to develop and implement the group’s long-term strategic plans
— Identify and implement processes, systems, and support to improve the business’ ongoing operations
— Work with Research department to create appropriate measurement and tracking mechanisms to monitor and optimize business growth
— Create processes and tools to mine data from digital music service to optimize business growth
— Lead ongoing competitive analysis
— Collaborate with Business Development, Technology, and other relevant groups to conduct due diligence on new technologies, platforms, and business partners
— Work across digital music team and cross-functional groups to improve overall digital music business (product, programming, marketing, ad sales, research, technology, customer support, etc.)
— 5+ years experience in consulting, strategic planning, or equivalent role
— Demonstrable operating experience leading complex projects from inception through completion
— Digital music or media experience required
— Excellent PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation skills a must
— Excellent written and oral communication skills
— Strong interpersonal capabilities
— MBA required
