This is a very well-written article explaining why marketing to youth is important for any new technology, and in this case mobile phones. “It has high liquid assets, a higher demand for communicative devices than any other demographic, and a natural propensity to approach technologies with little or no inhibitions or expectations as to what they should or can do. Youth don’t necessarily provide short-term profitability, but their ability to develop products that drive profitability for the mass market is invaluable.”
