Taito saw its net profit for the 2005 fiscal year fall by 51.1% compared to the previous year (The company earned 1.72 billion yen ($16.2 million) in fiscal year 2005, whereas it earned 3.5 billion yen ($33 million) in FY2004), a result it puts down to a 24.6% drop in the company’s profits in the console market due to a lack of original titles and a shortfall in its arcade facilities.
