Mobile Entertainment Factory (MEF) in partnership with ZYX Music has scored the rights to bring the Hampsterdance to mobile phones. The release claims “everybody certainly remembers the original version of Hampsterdance”, but if you’re like me and don’t remember it at all be prepared for a pleasant surprise…this looks to be one of coolest (in a cartoony-kitsch way) things I’ve seen for mobiles in quite a while. It’s basically four hamsters shaking their thing in all hot places of the world — often on a surfboard. Everyone gets into the act, kangaroos, mummies, camels…it can’t be adequately described, so check out the flash demo. I think MEF is hoping to copy the success of the crazy frog, and I think it just might work…
