The Economic Times: Dish TV, the DTH venture of Zee Telefilms, has slashed its installation and subscription rates by nearly 50% to beef up subscriber numbers. This is also meant to preempt migration of subscribers to Space TV, the new DTH platform from Star TV and Indian industrial group Tata, which is expected to get licence shortly.
The new package being offered is a Rs 4,990 ($110) deal, which includes the cost of hardware like the set-top box and dish antenna, activation charges and a subscription for one year. The channels offered include all the Zee channels, movie channels like HBO and a few sports channels.
