Mobile Email

Email is the “killer app” of the internet, so shouldn’t it be the “killer app” of mobile phones, too? Possibly… this article certainly points out how useful it can be. Of course, considering that most people still pay a per Kb charge (15c in this case) mobile email is still mostly restricted to executives and travelling sales people who absolutely need it.

Meanwhile, Unwired Appeal has announced the launch of UnwiredEmail, an application for email clients to send and receive SMS. Prices aren’t given, but “Its actually much less expensive than sending an SMS text-message from your cell phone at standard carrier rates”, said Stephen Nye, Unwired Appeal’s VP of Sales, “and we continue to drive pricing down while increasing functionality.”
