The Financial Express: With broadband access a reality now, it’s easy to tune into foreign stations on shortwave frequencies. Just log on to a radio station of your choice, from anywhere across the world, and listen on, realtime and crystal clear. But the Indian radio players still haven’t logged on to the net, even though there is plenty of Indian and Bollywood content around.
According to Entertainment Network India Ltd COO Prashant Panday, “None of the Indian radio players is offering online radio yet.” The issue is not so much about cost (it takes only a few millions of rupees to set up an online station) but putting the mainline business in place first, he states.
