Telecom Asia: Wireless Asia (March 2005): The government’s move to delicense the 2.4- and 5.1-GHz bands has spurred a Wi-Fi revolution in India as service providers rush to launch services in a number of regions. The Tata and the Bharti groups, Sify, the ISP arm of Satyam Computers, as well as state-owned BSNL and MTNL have already drawn up big plans for Wi-Fi deployments.
