Shazam Get Pre-Loaded With Moto; Gets New CEO

Shazam, the UK-based mobile music recognition company, has teamed with Motorola to pre-load access to its identification service within new Motorola handsets. The new deal means select Motorola handsets will now automate the short code dialling process. This means that with the touch of a button, users can “tag” the music they are interested in identifying. Users can then save results and, depending on network and subscription features, they can buy ringtones, CDs and downloads via their mobile handset.
Also, the company has recruited Andrew Fisher as its new CEO, replacing the longtime CEO Jerry Roest. Joining from InfoSpace Europe, Fisher will focus on overseeing the growth of Shazam’s business internationally…some more details on both announcements here and here
