Audio: Brands Vs Non-Brands on Mobile Content Deck

On the same mobile panel (see below), the importance (or lack of) established content brands came up, and how these brands affect the sales of mobile content. Some points which came up:
— The difference between first placement and third placement on general mobile content list, it is three times the sales…
— If you are a featured brand on the first screen, that makes about 12 times the difference in sales…
— Operators don’t necessarily make more money on brands…only the brands make more money…(assuming the operator is not taking money for premium placement)
— In ringtones, the brand (of operator or aggregator) hasn’t really mattered yet…it is about the artist’s brand.
— For mobile games, brands don’t matter that much…
— The big online portals, as a brand, will certainly make an impact…
