Answers.com Goes Mobile

Answers.com has launched a mobile beta-version of its search engine – Mobile Answers. The search engine has been reformated to fit the mobile screen, mainly by only displaying the first result and adding a link to clarifying searches rather than keeping it on the screen. This software falls into the “offer an online service on mobile phones” category, rather than the “search for something in your location” category or “search for content on the mobile network” category. As such, I’m not sure what its business model is in offering searches for mobile phones – but I guess it doesn’t actually cost the company anything.
