Since When Did Hollywood Get To Control Our Mobile Phones?

Good question…Mike Masnick at Techdirt went to town on an A.P. story that included the following quote from Jim Straight, vice president for wireless data and Internet services at Verizon Wireless: “When it comes to the cell phone I have to abide by the rules of the content houses.” The content houses apparently don’t want music transfered to a mobile phone from a computer or anything else, just over the operators network where it can be suitably charged for. I don’t think the operators are arguing too hard about this…
