Symbian Gets Synch Software from Rival Microsoft

Symbian has licensed synchronization software from Microsoft so its users can receive emails via network computers that run Microsoft’s Exchange Server software – mainly Outlook email and calendar operations. The deal is apparently the result of two factors. First, Symbian – originally created to fight a perceived move by Microsoft to dominate the mobile phone software market – is now less concerned that Microsoft has any chance of doing so. Second, and probably more importantly, customers want email on their mobile phones and want to hook up to their usual email addresses rather than get a new one.
