3 Launches Multiplayer Gaming

Cannons Tournament3 will launch multiplayer games on its mobile network in April. Initial real-time games will include No Refuge, a tank battle war game from Mobile Interaction, and Lock ‘n Load, a shooting game from Synergenix. Also, 3 will launch the “turn-based” multiplayer game Cannons Tournament, a shoot and fire cannon game supplied by Macrospace which is the same concept of the Nuclear War tank game and countless others, I imagine. I’m well pleased – those who take the time to read my posts will know that I think mobile devices have a strong advantage in turn-based games compared to real-time games. If a game is turn-based you don’t have to be concentrating on your mobile to play, you can just check it during smoko. There are also plenty of classics that could be transfered to mobile phones – I’ve been playing the first Warlords game again, so old it opens in MS-DOS and takes up less than 1.5 MB. It could easily be adapted to mobile devices and the series already has a significant fan base…
