3G: Adventures In Compelling Content

Following on from the scathing dismissal of mobile content at the beginning of the month, Digital-Lifestyles.info has published parts two and three of Mike Slocombe’s feature. Part II is a fairly limited rehash of recent offerings, Part III points to some of the innovations as companies try to make use of the different platform. There’s still a bit of skepticism about succeeding with content that’s not linked to a bigger brand, though. “It’ll be interesting to see whether we can develop something which is effectively stand-alone and which doesn’t have a TV property with it…If you can crack that it will be seen as a breakthrough.”

Unfortunately the series does focus on mobile video, rather than other – more interesting – innovations using mobile phones.
