Vice President, Content Operations leads the National Geographic Society’s efforts to deploy digital content across enterprise, education and consumer markets. VP reports to the President, Digital Media in National Geographic’s Washington, DC headquarters.
Major Responsibilities:
- Create a compelling direct-to-consumer content experience on Nationalgeographic.com and other digital platforms that can be effectively monetized through the sale of advertising and/or content
- Inform and manage — for attractive financial return — the development and execution of content-based relationships/contracts with partners in the enterprise, education and consumer markets
- Effectively leverage National Geographic’s video library to serve digital markets
Requirements:
Leadership experience in the interactive content efforts for a major, branded media company. Demonstrated success managing editorial, creative and marketing resources. Ability to manage complex projects and multiple functions. Understanding of online and TV/film media and the tools and technologies that can be utilized to leverage traditional content assets in digital environments. Strong preference for candidates who have been accountable for financial performance of digital media efforts. A strategic individual who has contributed to or created a vision for deploying content across digital platforms and has led effort to execute against that vision. MBA preferred.
