SmartVideo Technologies is targeting specific audiences and – like Movida and Fox Sports – has seen US-based Hispanics as a desirable group to market to. It has teamed up with OlympuSAT to offer “the movie channel Cine Mexicano; Latin TV, a new-media network targeting young bilingual Latinos; music channel Puma TV; TV Chile, a family focused entertainment channel; and TV Colombia”, as well as various spiritual and family-friendly channels. This is only the first of SmartVideo’s attempts to go after targeted audiences. SmartVideo’s president and CEO, Richard E. Bennett, Jr., noted, “We’ve had great success in acquiring national broadcast brands for SmartVideo, and now we’re pleased to be able to serve more targeted audiences. There is a large untapped growth opportunity in the wireless space in reaching customers with specialized interests, whether it’s for ethnic, religious, local or specific news and entertainment programming. We’re proud to be at the forefront of providing that service.”
