We’re launching our first joint project, Billboard PostPlay in association with Billboard and its parent company VNU. The joint blog will cover all aspects of digital music: online, mobile music, P2P, devices, legal issues and others. In addition to creating a one-stop shop for digital music news coverage, we plan to use all the data available to Billboard (stats for online downloads, ringtone charts, P2P, etc.) and to decipher trends in the industry.
The site has an RSS feed, and, soon, we’ll offer an e-mail newsletter …
The goal is a daily must-read for the industry, much like our other ventures…
How does this affect regular readers? Well, most mobile music coverage will also be on PostPlay, similar to the approach with mobile content when we hived off this site from parent site paidContent.org. If you want to join the dots of mobile and online music, PostPlay is your play…
In addition to me, we’ve hired Todd Beals, a digital music expert and writer, as a contributor. Billboard journalists and other writers will chime in from time to time.
To kick off the blog, I’m covering two digital music-related conferences in NYC this week: the Digital Music Forum today, and the Billboard Music & Money Conference tomorrow. Check out the new Billboard PostPlay blog for blanket coverage …
We welcome your feedback and help in getting the word out…
