Ericsson has stepped up its plan to maintain a decent share of the mobile infrastructure market by offering hosted services. Now the mobile equipment giant is offering “white label” content portals. The five different portals (music, multiplayer gaming, video, multimedia subscriptions and downloads) are branded with the carriers brand and can be mixed and matched to suit the operators’ markets. Content distribution and digital rights management are included in the offering, and content is supplied by Ericsson partners… I wonder if this qualifies as commoditizing content…
