Photos to Friends – A Virtual Sofa?

Futureice has announced it will launch a photo-sharing service at the 3GSM World Congress. The service, known as Photos to Friends, was likened to a virtual sofa by stretching an analogy. Anyway, the neat part about this service is that it’s not only online and free, but has security features that allow you to select the people who are allowed to see your photos from your mobile contact list. This service should be incredibly popular to people who are worried that moblogging will lead to children being contacted by undesirable people but still want their kids to have fun with the new technology – or at least stop whining about not being able to use it. The service will apparently raise revenue through advertising, although it’s unclear whether the advertising will be on the website or handset and whether it will be targetted to album owners or album viewers, or both.
