Phones Come First

The argument that handsets play the most important part of a consumers mobile content experience can be strongly supported – if the handset makes it too complicated to use multimedia services consumers won’t use them as much. Some telcos have realized this and are gearing their sales channels to sell multimedia handsets that are easy to use and have demonstrated an increase in mobile data usage, as well as targetting advertizing to the population segment which brings new technology mainstream (apparently females aged 16-19). Hopefully this will give a boost to mobile content…
