Wireless system key to future U.S. military

The US military is working out how to take wireless into the battlefield, and since they fact pretty much the same problems they always have it’s unsurprising the system looks a lot like the Internet, except portable. “The engineers have had to design a network girded by several points, or nodes, formed by hundreds of military vehicles…Each military vehicle becomes a transmitter, relaying data over multiple channels simultaneously, and detecting each other automatically to form a data-sharing web.” The technology is described as “a generation or two” ahead of the commercial technology, and shouldn’t be overlooked as a possible future of the wireless industry – and therefore the wireless content market.
