The Australian Communications Authority has asked the public to get involved with creating new regulations for mobile content – especially in the area of adult content and its possible access by children. “We’re looking for feedback about proposed measures to restrict access by children to adult content, to prohibit explicit content and to protect children who use chat rooms on their mobile phones from behaviour such as pedophile grooming”. Australian officials are also considering new regulations for cameras – both in mobiles and on their own – following strong concerns of breaches of privacy.
