Verizon Wireless has had a good quarter, adding 1.7 million customers and seeing its revenue rise 22 percent to $7.3 billion year on year. ARPU (average revenue per user) “was $50.32, down from $51.58 in the third quarter up from $49 a year earlier.”
Data services rose to $359 million or 5.6 percent or service revenue, up from 4.7 percent in the third quarter.
“Along with its U.S. competitors and wireless companies around the world, Verizon Wireless is investing heavily in its network to develop data services such as high-speed Web surfing in the hope of boosting growth amid falling phone call prices.”
