XM and Sirius discuss merger

Satellite radio companies XM and Sirius are rumored to be discussing a merger, although they have denied it. These are the only two companies providing satellite radio, and a merger would create a monopoly. “However, the companies feel that satellite radio shouldn’t be considered as a new, separate market, but rather as an adjunct to the increasingly popular mobile/wireless content delivery sector.” XM is trying to get its service onto mobile phones, and there will be enough competition in music delivery via mobiles…
