This makes a lot of sense: “Mobile multimedia won’t compete with off-air broadcasting or cable TV or DVDs. It won’t compete with laptop access to the Internet. It’s an entirely new market, and proponents will have to create entirely new demand. The folks who developed the Blackberry figured out how to do that. The folks who developed Iridium didn’t.”
