Emblaze, the Israel-based mobile streaming technology company, is planning a push to begin selling mobile phone handsets in Europe and has poached a senior executive from O2 to lead its efforts. Laurence Alexander, head of O2’s online division and director of UK products, is to take the CEO role at Emblaze’s mobile division from the beginning of April.
Emblaze is better known for creating video-streaming technology for advanced mobile handsets but has recently begun to increase its activities of manufacturing high-end handsets.
