[CES 2005]: Exclusive Audio: Daniel Kranzler, Chairman & CEO, Mforma

Daniel KranzlerLed by Chairman/CEO Daniel Kranzler, Mforma publishes and distributes mobile media and entertainment for more than 100 carriers in 39 countries on four continents. Kranzler took part in a CES super session simply labled “wireless.” Afterwards, he spoke with paidContent.orgExecutive Editor Staci D. Kramer about what it will take to have mobile really take off in the United States. First step, says Kranzler, “Absolutely, the most important thing is to make it easier for consumers. It’s still unbelievably difficult for a conumer to find what they want. Then once they find it, it’s still hard to use.”
— “Most people don’t know what they’re doing. Many consumers lease product and don’t realize that they’re spending $60 for a bowling game …that’s wrong.”
— “I worry about wireless. Wireless has a lot of innovations that make a lot of noise about new subscribers and it dies when they get the next thing. I believe the department store model is bad — fast, simple, gets people excited today but it’s not a long-term strategy.”
— “What’s different about the U.S. are two factors: One, the U.S, consumer is very impatient. I want it now. Two, they have disposable income.” ()Download the five-minute audio in Mp3 format (4.7 MB) or Ogg Vorbis (1 MB) format (Bear with the background noise.)Related — Spidey and Friends Go Mobile Worldwide With Mforma
