If you want to know what to expect in the mobile industry in 2005, read this article. Don’t accept it as gospel, of course, but it gives a good idea of what different people will be pushing and explains each case very well. I won’t cannibalise the article by listing all the predictions, but I do agree with the “voice is the killer app for 3G” one. People still use mobiles mostly to speak, and will be attracted by cheap voice packages – allowing carriers to then upsell them to the paid content part of their services.
