Van Houten’s passion for interoperability and his understanding of the power of mobile phones stood out on the cluttered panel. While others, notably Vyomeshi Joshi, SVP — printing, imaging, and CE, HP, talk about moving storage cards between devices, Van Houten is enamored of near-field communications, which would allow mobile phone users to bring their handset within five inches of an enabled device and move data like pictures without cards or cords.
