AOL-owned MapQuest has launched a new service to send maps to mobile phones for a monthly subscription of US$3.99. Maps are one of the more useful services to have on a mobile, since when you get lost you can’t (almost by definition) find a map. But personally, I think this is a pretty high cost for the service, even for the “heavy business travelers, such as sales professionals” which MapQuest sees as its early adopters.
