Mobile content provider Bango has made a couple of predictions (ignoring the one about mobile content portals will take over content delivery since it’s suspiciously self-serving). First, the overall “UK Mobile Content market will grow by between 50 and 100% in 2005″. I’m not sure if this is a big claim or not. The mobile content market is certainly greater than zero, but it is just starting out so you would expect a large increase as more companies and industries move into the space, and more customers get newer handsets.
Secondly, “New billing systems, including Simpay – the mobile payment scheme founded by Orange, Telefonica Moviles, T-Mobile and Vodafone – will arrive in 2005, further enriching payment options for ‘browse and buy’ services. This will result in less than 16% of content payments – excluding voting and SMS chat – being made through Premium SMS billing by the end of 2005.”
