Celebrity Big Brother 2005, launching in January, could be the first TV show to feature inbound mobile video interaction with viewers. I’m still not entirely clear what is meant by “inbound mobile video interaction”, it sounds like the public would be able to have video calls with the contestents, but I can’t see how the contestents would have time to take enough calls to make it worthwhile, even if they did spend most of the day doing nothing. I’m sure I’m missing something. Anyway, production company and Big Brother creator Endemol plans to “incorporate inbound mobile video into its major shows next year and believes that 2005 will be the year in which mobile video becomes a serious revenue generator for TV companies”.
