A rapid increase in the number of people owning camera phones is not translating into a rapid increase in the number of people sending pictures via MMS, according to this BBC article. The number of camera phones in the UK has doubled since 2003 to 7.5 million, but the number of camera phone owners who have never sent an MMS is now 36 percent, up from 7 percent in 2003. “Only 11% (of those surveyed by continental research) regarded themselves as technically savvy enough to send a picture or video message.”
