Games company Square Enix has seen strong gains in its sales, and the differences between its online and mobile divisions are interesting. Online games saw a rise in sales of 101%, corresponding to a rise in operating profit of 230.9%. In contrast, mobile game sales rose by 54.8%, corresponding to a rise in operating profits of only 7%. There’s no further details as to why the operating profits of mobile games rose so little compared to sales, so it could be because of increased infrastructure investment or because of a drop in mobile games prices, or possibly some other reason.
