Russians are going wild for mobile content, and the industry is expected to $1 billion in revenue in the next two years. This article is full of figures, which are very interesting despite being localized to the Russian market. “Some 71 percent of all profits come from entertainment and personalized content, including pictures, music and Java games. Interactive products like SMS games, dating services and lotteries are more popular, but only account for 22 percent of all revenues because they are cheaper.” The article goes on to say that mobile providers keep up to half of content revenues, media partners get about 20 percent and the rest goes to royalties and other fees.
