The still state-owned Telenor Mobil has kicked off 3G services in 70 Norwegian cities and towns. By March of next year the company says it will provide coverage in 132 urban areas with full coverage of all areas with more than 200 inhabitants planned for 2007.
Meanwhile in Israel, the Hutchison Telecommunications-owned Partner Communications is launching its 3G services today. The company says that it will be selling next generation mobile handsets at 160 retail outlets and claims it is the first Israeli company to offer 3G services.
