I-mate pushes smart phones in first video mobile soap

Smartphone manufacturer I-Mate has launched a mobile-video series to promote its devices. ‘Cjaq’, which is billed as ” the first mobile phone soap to use video” (the ’24’ series was more of a drama), is about five 20-somethings who find themselves trapped in a futuristic nightclub after receiving a hoax SMS to the clubs opening. The first three of the ten 2-minute episodes are available to anybody from the Club I-mate Web site, but the rest will only be available to owners of an I-mate device.
Kudos to I-mate for finding an innovative way to promote their smartphones, but I don’t think anybody is going to switch handsets just to watch the end of a mobile soap opera.
