Malaysian Mobile content rules in the works

The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) will develop a code specifically to cover mobile content, and will include content delivered via SMS, MMS and 3G services.
Codes are often derided as being ‘toothless’, but I think they serve a useful purpose in providing guidelines to content creators and providers over where the ‘fine line’ is. “The drafting of the Content Code saw the CMCF reach out far and wide to garner feedback from a variety of groups, including religious authorities, non-government organisations and members of the public.”
