There’s been a lot of action lately in regards to films for mobile phones, mainly driven by carriers and handset manufacturers to get the ball rolling in the new medium. Here’s a few more:

“Short Film” is an understatement – these cinematic masterpieces will be 15 seconds long. At first glance this sounds like a pointless exercise, but I was surprised to find I could come up with a reasonable story line (not great, but reasonable) for a 15 second movie. Try it yourself.
Mobile Exposure
Microcinema is looking for short films on mobile culture “made using cell phones, obsolete video cameras, wristcams, childrens’ NON-(vhs/dv/hi-8) video cameras, PDAs, and even small cameras that allow mpg”. They hope to answer questions such as “Does the intimacy and mobility of the video-enabled cell phone create a change in perspective? Does it represent a culture of universal surveillance where there is a universal intimacy but a complete lack of private space? Does its low-resolution somehow challenge the aesthetics, ‘truthfulness’, or technofetishism of the increasingly filmic nature of video?”
Vodafone UK Selects Filmnight as Exclusive Provider of Film Related Content to its Customers
Vodafone has chosen Filmnight to “provide exclusive film and film related content for Vodafone UK’s newly launched Vodafone live! with 3G services.”
